WORLD OF Medical Physics

WEBSITE FOR RADIATION ONCOLOGY LEARNING

  • Since 2015, Medical Physics for World Benefit (MPWB) has been developing an open access and public resource for Medical Physics Radiation Oncology Training, called the “MPWB Open Syllabus Project”. The intent of this project is connecting freely accessible online materials, such as presentations, documents, reports, videos, and other types of educational media, directly with the components of the IAEA TC-37 report of training requirements for Medical Physicists Resident specializing in Radiation Oncology. This report shares similarities with other medical physics residency training documents, such as those found in CAMPEP and other residency training syllabi. The goal of this project is primarily to help medical physics residents, particularly in low- and middle-income countries, gain access to freely accessible resources.

Our online resource, the Website for Radiation Oncology Learning (WORLD of MP), is now available for testing:

Open Syllabus (mpwb.org) - Basic Webpage

Open Syllabus - Filterable (mpwb.org) - Filterable Webpage (bottom of page).

    Please note the following:

  • 1.     Most of our efforts have been on curating the list of resources as they relate directly to the learning objectives defined by the IAEA report. As such, links to resources that follow the themes, major topics, and sub-topics are organized using the syllabus defined by the IAEA report.

  • 2.     While we have done our best to find open-access resources, many resources do not exist online in a freely accessible form. Missing resources are identified on the website. If you are aware of a resource that could be used, we would gratefully appreciate a link to it. Please  E-mail medphyswb@gmail.com if you have suggestions.

  • 3.     Our primary goal is to curate the list of resources and, thus, have not focused on the details of the layout, presentation, and other design issues. These issues will be addressed with professional assistance from web designers. Changes to the resource will be made as time permits.
